We were woken early in Castlegregory by the forecasted gale so there was much suprise when we turned up at Dumps to find absolutely no wind whatsoever. And no swell either. We could see however that it was bonkers windy over the other side of the bay at Gowlane - probably too windy. Jamie Knox turned up and in his wisdom predicted that the wind would reach Dumps in a very short while. It did and we were soon stacked on 4.0s. But the swell was still crap and a hint of onshore in the direction meant it was like Hove but worse due to port tack gheyness.

3 hours of onshore mush-bothering was more than enough so we decided to leave Dumps and check out Gowlane. What did we find? Perfect head high clean lines? Yep. 45 degree cross-off direction? Yep. And the Wind strength? A no way sailable 40-50 knots... :(

That perfect cross-shore groundswell session continues to elude us. Early tomorrow morning might be our last chance.
